Title: Psychic Powers
Fandoms: Supernatural and X-men
Pairings: Sam/Madelyne
Rating: PG
Warnings/Spoilers: AU for X-Men. Mutants aren’t really well-known of, and since I can’t remember how old Nathan was when Scott left him & Maddy, Scott left a few months after he was born to go back with the X-Men and Jean. And by now Maddy and Scott are divorced. Post Season 1 for Supernatural.
Summary: After Sam sees Madelyne for the first time, Sam has terrible visions of the future…
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] galorechallenge prompts Madelyne/Sam; smile (chapter 1) & protect (chapter 2). I always liked the idea of Sam and Maddy together and I’ve finally gotten around to creating a fanfic for them.
The story is currently unfinished, but I hope to finish it sooner or later.

Chapter 1

Madelyne Pryor glanced over to the man again. He was very handsome, short hair cut but it was much longer then the other guy’s hair cut. From her seat, she could see he had very nice smooth good-looking face. He was a younger man; to her he looked like he could be in his middle 20s. She smiled softly to herself as she watched him for another minute. She felt like a teenager at the cafeteria watching her crush. Her face turned beat red when he turned around and saw her staring at him. She looked back down to watch Nathan.

Nathan looked up at her and his small chubby smile. He moved his hands to grab at her hair, and Madelyne moved closer so he could reach his goal. He giggled happily as he yanked and buried his face into her hair. That was his security blanket; his doctor had stated when Maddy told her about him always trying to take her hair. Its common in babies, she had said, nothing to worry about. Nathan couldn’t fall asleep unless of course he was dead tired, without holding on her hair. He gurgled something, which caused Maddy to laugh.

“I love you too, Nate.” Maddy stated, kissing her son’s forehead. She then grabbed her soda and finished drinking it. After grabbing and putting the diaper bag on her should, she grabbed her tray of trash, and then she moved Nathan to her him and held on tight enough so he would slip out of her hands. She threw the trash out and with one last look at the man she had been fawning over, who had once again glanced over to her as she threw her trash out. He smiled at her, and she smiled back although she couldn’t stop herself from blushing. She quickly left the fast food place.

Across the room, Sam Winchester sat watching the very beautiful red haired woman. Beside him, his brother glanced up to say something to him but he realized Sam wasn’t paying attention… at least to him anyway. Dean followed Sam’s line of sight and caught a red haired woman with a baby on her hip glancing over to them and smile, Dean turned back to his brother and saw he returned the smile. Dean whistled.

“Didn’t know you had a thing for mommies, Sammy.” Dean stated, smirking which received him a glare from his younger brother. “I have to admit though, she’s hot. Very.”

Dean-” Sam started frowning at his brother, who interrupted him.

“No worries Sammy, you can have her. She’s leaving, you might want to go and get her phone number.” Dean stated.

“Dean, she’s a mom, possibly married.” Sam stated shaking his head.

“Possibly is the key word. I didn’t see any wedding rings.” Dean stated.

“Just eat your burger and shut the hell up.” Sam stated, returning to eating his fries and reading information about a demon on his laptop. Dean rolled his eyes, but ate his hamburger.

Chapter 2

Back at the motel, Dean left Sam to his research while he went out to the local bar. A few hours later, Sam Winchester was still reading, he had a sudden pain in his head. The pain hurt like hell was banging on his skull. He grabbed his head to try to put some relief on the sudden but it failed. He squeezed his eyes shut.

It was then that he realized he was having a vision, and a pretty strong one at that. Everything was clear.

He was in a baby’s room for sure, although where he didn’t know. A baby started crying from the crib, and Sam tried to reach it, but he couldn’t move. The baby somehow was protected by a force field as Sam watched when a dark figure moved closer to it. Shouting started as the dark figure tried to force his way past the force field. Sam’s vision changed and he saw the red haired woman from the fast food restaurant from earlier run inside the room screaming. He couldn’t hear what the woman was screaming, but before he knew it, the dark figure was thrown against the wall and then got up quickly. Sam could feel the anger from it when it lifted his arm and with it he lifted the woman up and slammed her against the wall. She cried out, Sam could see out. And the dark figure moved his back to the woman while she burst into flames.

Dean splashed water on his brother’s head, trying to wake him up. “Sammy! Come on! Wake up!”

Sam sat up straight completely awake but slightly confused to why he was on the floor. He glanced over towards his brother’s concerned eyes. He frowned, “How did I get on the floor?”

“I don’t know, but you were thrashing around dude.” Dean stated, pointing to his face. It had a bruise on his cheek, which Sam smirked at. Dean glared. “Fall asleep?”

“No… I think I had another vision.” Sam stated, causing Dean to frown.

“It’s been a long time since you had one those,” Dean stated. Sam nodded. “What was this one about?”

“The red haired woman and her son…” He started, rubbing his aching head. “The yellow-eyed-demon is going after them.”

Dean cursed. “What the hell are we going to do? What was her name?”

“We have to find her Dean,” Sam stated, standing up. “We can’t let this happen to her or her baby.”

“I know Sammy, you check the computer, see what you can find.” Dean stated, “I’m gonna go try and see if I can find her.”

“This is a huge city, you expect her to be right there on a corner?” Sam asked, frowning at Dean’s mental ability.

“Come on, she’s a mom, she’s bound to be around parks or other places.” Dean stated, rolling his eyes. “Don’t worry Sammy; we’ll protect the two of them from the demon.”

Madelyne Pryor stared at her son in surprise when the bottle bounced off nothing and fell to the ground. As she stared intently she could see a slight force field surrounding her baby. She glanced down at him and frowned slightly. She didn’t need to know anything else. Since it she wasn’t doing that, she knew it was her son. Apparently he had the mutant gene as well.

She had hoped he wouldn’t have it, but then she knew that was a stupid hope - both of his parents had mutant abilities. Genetics weren’t on her side. Although her powers weren’t known until just a year or so ago that she was really surprised to see that he had received his at this early age. Not even his father had discovered he had mutant abilities until he was a teen - which was an average age when mutant abilities show themselves.

She had to speak to someone about this. Especially since she doubted this would be the last of his powers. She herself had two powers to speak of, telekinesis and teleportation. Who knew what Scott’s optic powers would create. Madelyne made a mental note to call Hank and ask him about this - without having to involve her ex-husband. Tears welled up in her eyes at the thought of him. She shook her head to stop herself from going down that path.

“Come on Nate, ” Madelyne said, picking him up. “Let’s take a walk around the block. Maybe that will tire you out instead.”

Chapter 3

Madelyne Pryor smiled thankfully as Nate's eyes closed. It was just about a half an hour after she left their apartment and she was tired of walking, and apparently Nate was tired altogether. She turned the baby stroller around and headed back to their apartment. Thankfully they weren't too far away from it, so she would be there in a few minutes.

It was only a few steps from the apartment building did she have a feeling she was being watched. She turned around to see if anyone was indeed watching her, but she couldn't find anyone who did. Turning back around she pushed the stroller to the stairs of the apartment building and moved to infront of the stroller to pick up Nate. She quickily picked him and the stroller up and carried them up the stairs to the door. With one last glance to the street around her, Maddy entered the building.

"Hello Maddy!" greeted the old land lady, Dalora Cullenblou. However she forced everyone to just call her Lora. She considered everyone as friends, and she was the most friendly person Maddy had ever known in her life. The old woman cooed at Nate, smiling at the baby boy. "Awe, the poor boy is asleep. Come on in and have some tea, we have loads to catch up on."

"Lora! What a pleasure, did you have a nice trip to your daughter's new house?" Maddy asked politely, entering the old lady's apartment.

"Yes I did, loads of fun. Oh my, her house is huge! I'm hoping that means that she and her husband plan to have loads of grandchildren for me." Lora stated, pouring hot tea in a cup for Maddy.

"Well I hope you get your wish, Lora. Thank you," Maddy said politely as she took the tea cup from the old woman.

"So how have you two been since I last saw you?" Lora asked, pointedly.

"We're fine, Lora, really. We went out to the mall and then grabbed something to eat at the new fast food place down the street. And then we, or really I did, walked around the block a few times." Maddy stated, taking a sip of the tea.

"What about the job search?"

"Okay, well that's not going too well. No one needs an ex-pilot to work for them," Maddy said rolling her eyes at the thought. "But I'll more then likely get a job soon."

"True, you are a bright and beautiful woman." Lora stated smiling.

"Well I better go, Loria, how about we catch up tomorrow? Come on up in the morning, and I'll make breakfast." Maddy suggested, standing up.

"Excellent," Lora said, smiling. "I love your pancakes."

"Great, see you then."

"I can't believe you found her..." Sam Winchester stated to his brother after his brother told him he found the red-haired woman from earlier.

"Yeah, well, I'm good. Really good." Dean stated, smirking.

Sam rolled his eyes, and stood up grabbing his labtop. "We should probably get going."

"Sure, did you find anything about her?"

"How can I? We don't even know her name..."

"Oh right, and that's because you were too afraid to go over to her and flirt with her." Dean stated, causing Sam to glare at his older brother.

"Just because I'm not a flirt whore like you makes this my fault." Sam retorted. Dean nodded, smirking.

"Nice comeback. Maybe it isn't, but come on. You should have known something was weird with the woman as soon as she started looking at you with interest."

"Are you implying every girl that ever liked me is weird because they find me attractive?" Sam asked, angrily.

"No, I'm saying they usually have a supernatural addition to them."

"Whatever," Sam stated walking out the door.

TO BE CONTINUED... ONE DAY.
