The sight of her took his breath away.

He grinned down at the bundle in his arms. Having her in his arms was as if he had been reborn again… this time a father.

She was beautiful and seemed perfectly content to sleep in his arms for the rest of her life. And if he had any choice, he would have chose that, because he didn’t want her to grow up.

“She’s beautiful,” whispered Leah, out of breath from the childbirth. He looked up with pride.

“She takes after you,” Jacob stated.

“She’d better since I gave birth to her.”
