“Beth? I don‘t think you should drive…”
 
“Why? I‘m perfectly fine!” 

“Your drunk!” 

“I am so not drunk…” Beth Turner stated, starting to giggle. “Okay, maybe just a little.” 

Her mother shook her head in disappointment and took Beth‘s cell phone from her . “I‘m going to call one of your friends, who do you know who‘s free tonight?” 

“Um…” Beth squinted in thought then grinned. “Josef!” 

“Alright then…” Mrs. Turner pressed his name and waited for the phone to answer. “Hello, Josef? Hi, my daughter is, well, drunk and I was wondered if you could take her back to her apartment. Unless your not free, of course… She told me to call you. ” Beth giggled happily as she took another sip of her beer. “Thank you,” Mrs. Turner smiled and closed Beth‘s cell phone, and then frowned as she watched her daughter twirl around spilling her drink on the floor. She winced at the mess, “Not the new carpet…” 

Not more then ten minutes later, with Beth still dancing by herself, Josef arrived. Luckily Beth’s mother was able to get Beth to stop drinking any more alcohol. Mrs. Turner welcomed Josef in the house. 

“I‘m sorry about this, but I don‘t drive myself and I don‘t trust those taxi drivers.” Mrs. Turner said. 

Josef nodded politely with a small smile. “No problem, Mrs. Turner.” 

“So how do you know Beth?” 

“We met through an interview, and we had a mutual friend.” 

“Well, that‘s nice. I hope to see you more, just not like this.” Mrs. Turner stated as Josef guided Beth towards the door. She was slightly surprised at how contently and easy Josef could get Beth to come with him. It took her nearly ten minutes for her to get her daughter to stop drinking and to give her the cup Beth was spilling everywhere. Her daughter was stubborn and uncontrollable sometimes. However surprised she was though, she felt slightly better knowing that there was a guy out there that Beth felt completely content with. She was very disappointed with Josh; they weren’t a good match and she was quite proud that they ended their relationship now before they got engaged or anything else happened between them. She knew since the first time she met that boy they shouldn’t have been together to begin with, but she kept quiet because she didn’t want to push Beth in the wrong direction. 

“Of course, it would be entirely my pleasure.” Josef stated politely as Beth hung onto him sleepily. 

“It would be a great pleasure for me as well, thank you again.” Josef nodded in response and picked up Beth in his arms. He then carried her towards his car. Mrs. Turner sighed, relieved that her daughter was going home and would be safe.
