songfrog prompt Accidental Baby Acquisition and Bucky Barnes Bingo 2025 (Round 7) prompt Yelena Belova. It's not quite as shippy as I intended but it came out more humor based, and the other Avengers kept wanting to appear in this so hopefully you like this. I just saw the "Accidental Baby Acquisition" on your fandomtrees and this came to me.

“What was that?” Bucky Barnes asked and the others glance around curiously. The sound was louder this time, and unmistakable – a baby crying.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Ava mumbled, glaring at John. “Did you bring your son here without telling us?”
“No!” John shouted, “He’s with Olivia!”
The others turn to Bob, and he looks as surprised as everyone else does that they hear a baby crying in the tower.
“Yelena,” Bucky starts, but she’s already moving towards the sound and he follows her, “Ava check the security feeds, see if we can find out exactly who left a baby here.”
---
There was nothing on the security feed; one second there was nothing in the lounge, and the next a baby girl was there. There was no record of anyone coming or going from the Avengers levels. Now they were just waiting to see if DNA results would lead to anything. Alexei had immediately gone off to the store for baby supplies with Bob as a support system. The others had a feeling the baby will soon be decked out with Avengers baby clothes and toys when they get back.
“This isn’t possible, right?” John questions glancing at the baby girl – she was cute, pale skin with just a hint of pink with brunette curls and blue eyes.
“You do realize what’s happened in the world for the last, oh I don’t know ten years?” Ava questioned with a glare for John before quickly fixing her face into a smile at the little girl. “This is perfectly possible.”
Yelena nodded in agreement, “If anything this is least amount of strange to happen to any of us.”
At that moment Mel and Bucky returned, both with faces of disbelief and shock. Bucky stopped by the door to the lounge unable to move closer, as Mel carried on towards the rest of the group. He’d been with her for the results, and he was still dealing with the truth of it. Mel smiled softly at the group before turning to face Yelena, who was the closest to the baby now that the attention turned to Mel and Bucky.
“Well we got the results back for the DNA test, and we’ve tested them about ten times,” Mel started and handed a tablet to Yelena, “And as you can see –”
“I’m the mother?” Yelena read, anger and disbelief filling her voice. “That’s not possible. They took away that ability! I can’t have children! Test it again!”
“I know Yelena,” Mel replied quietly moving closer to her. Ava moved closer, both unsure if they should touch her. “I’m still running tests, because it doesn’t make sense. You haven’t given birth even if the Black Widow program hadn’t taken away the ability.”
“Who’s the father?” John asked softly, unsure if he should say anything but if one of the parents of the baby girl was Yelena, he had a bad feeling that the father might just be one of the new Avengers. He might already have one kid, but he wasn’t ready for another one.
“I am.” Bucky managed to get out, still from his spot by the door. He was staring at the baby from his location, still lost in a sea of disbelief and pain. He’d never expected to have this moment – maybe in his dreams he’d have a family, but he’d lost the idea of actually having one in real life after falling off that train.
“What?”
---
“Я дедушка?” Alexei questioned, dropping the bags of baby stuff and running over towards the baby. He quickly but safely scooped the baby up into his arms and grinned proudly at her. “моя милая внучка.”<
Yelena starred at him in disbelief. “This isn’t possible dad!”
“дочка – anything is possible,” Alexei said kissing the top of his granddaughter’s forehead. “But maybe we should call your mother, yes? Maybe she’ll have some ideas.”
---
Melina Vostokoff did not have any ideas on how this was possible, but she was on the first flight to New York as soon as she heard the news. Melina’s tests showed the same results as the original, and they were no closer to discovering exactly where the baby came from other than of course Bucky Barnes and Yelena Belova.
Both “parents” could barely look at the other besides in discomfort or embarrassment, neither wanted to confirm to the other if they held any attraction for each other. And with each new test performed on the baby or themselves, there was an underlying hope for both of them that it wasn’t going to go away. That the baby was really theirs even if it made no sense at all.
---
“Are we just going to keep calling the baby, you know, the baby?” John asked Yelena one night, “Shouldn’t you and Barnes pick a name for her?”
She glances over to Bucky who was holding the baby in his arms. The baby seemed to like both of them very much, and only seemed to tolerate the others for the most part. So far Bucky was the one that seemed to calm the baby the most when she’s upset, Yelena tried but she wasn’t an expert and she tended to fumble the parent duty a lot. But Bucky? He seemed to be an expert on kids, and he’d put her to sleep almost every night when they didn’t have to go on a mission. Melina or Alexei took over for them when they had to go away, and she still wasn’t sure how she felt about everything. Seeing her parents reunited again just reminded her of last time they were all together and how they were missing Natasha. She had a feeling Natasha would understand how she was feeling more than anyone, and she wanted her sister here more than anything.
She had been thinking of a name for the baby, has since they discovered the truth behind the baby. But she wasn’t sure how Bucky would feel – maybe he had his own picked out for their baby girl. She hadn’t dreamed of having her own baby – not since she was a kid in Ohio thinking she’d grow up normal and married with a family. The Red Room took away her ability to have children, and hell even mostly the want for a baby of her own – the fear of the Red Room taking it away from her. Even after destroying the Red Room that fear didn’t stop.
“I think Natasha Rebecca would be a good name for her,” Bucky states softly finally looking up and meeting Yelena’s eyes. Her throat dries up, and tears prickle at the edges of her eyes as she takes in his words. “For your sister and mine, if you don’t mind of course, or if you don’t like it-”
“I love it,” Yelena manages to state and everyone ignores her silent tears.
---
The answer to where the baby – Natasha Rebecca Barnes-Belova or Belova-Barnes, they haven’t quite decided on which last name would go first – came in the form of Doctor Stephen Strange.
“Another universe?”
“Yes, it looks like the baby comes from another universe, but I can’t seem to locate it anymore.” Dr. Strange states as he hands the baby back to Yelena. “I think maybe your counter-parts may have sent baby Natasha here for her own safety.”
“So she’s an orphan?” Bucky manages to ask, his eyes harden as he takes in Strange’s words.
“Yes, and no,” Strange states taking in the little family before him. Yelena held baby Natasha in her arms, and Bucky stood shoulder to shoulder with her, his body leaning towards them and Strange grins. “Her real parents may be your alternate selves from another universe that no longer exists, but she’s still technically your daughter.”
---
“Look!” Alexei shouted, holding Natasha up proudly. The baby giggled and clapped happily as she took in everyone starring at her. Melina tickled her toes, just as proud as Alexei of their granddaughter.
Natasha Rebecca Barnes-Belova was wearing an Avengers costume that Alexei managed to commission for her – a mixture of her parents uniform and despite the momentary fear Yelena felt at seeing her in a uniform, she couldn’t help but love it. Natasha was adorable in everything she wore. Bucky let out a laugh, and squeezed Yelena’s hand in his, knowing exactly how she felt.
Bucky still wasn’t sure about the future or exactly how he and Yelena fit together as parents (or even together), but he found it oddly calming to know that he wasn’t alone in this. That he had her, her parents, and the rest of the Avengers to help them.
THE END.
