Despite Wednesday’s words, Tyler could see the pleased smile behind her eyes at his words and he knew her words were mostly in response to the day’s events and the presence of the remaining Nightshades nearby. They’d almost lost one another. She didn’t care for public displays of affection, he knew that, sometimes even enjoyed that aspect but right now he just needed to remind her he was there for her. That he’d always be there for her, at least until death took him anyway (since he wasn’t going to let death claim her).
