In the beginning there was no doubt in Mel’s mind she was doing the right thing – joining Valentina as her assistant. She wasn’t some superhero or an enhanced individual that could do some world inspiring good or save it overnight. Valentina was supposed to be her guiding light to be part of something better. She was just another human, granted she had a few good skills and experience under her belt, maybe not exactly spy material as shown to her by the Bob situation and she definitely did not like “firing” people (her stomach got queasy at just the thought).
