Notes: Written for xmen15 prompt death and for xmen100 prompt dream. Inspired by the new(ish) comics return of Madelyne. So if you've read any, this might know what inspired this.

Each night Madelyne dreams the same dream, and wakes with tortured screams. Each night her heart breaks just a little bit more. She dreams of losing Nathan – sometimes by her hand, sometimes by someone else’s – but always, always losing him. It differs night to night, sometimes he’s just a baby – exactly how she lost saw him before her death – others, as a toddler, a young child, a teenager, an adult, even sometimes an old man. Sometimes she gets to have great moments with him – playing or teaching him, laughing with him until tears come.

But it always ends the same.
