Part 1
The staircase seemed endless in her upset state. When she finally reached the landing of her apartment, she unlocked her door and entered. Sharpay flung her bag and let out a deep sigh before she walked a few more steps so she could collapse on the couch. She shut her eyes tightly to try and block out what happened today.
The sound of footsteps grew closer and closer until they were right in front of the couch.
“Shar?”
Sharpay opened her eyes and a few tears began falling. Troy pulled her up to him, hoping that he could calm her.
Part 2
“Alex didn’t deserve it.” Sharpay whispered, her voice cracked from how hoarse her voice from crying. Troy frown deepened, he hated seeing his wife like this, and pulled her closer to him.
“No, he didn’t, he was a good kid…”
“He had the stuff to make it, Troy. He was down to earth, an excellent student, and an excellent actor.” Sharpay stated, causing another set of tears to start falling.
Troy stood up with Sharpay wrapped bridal-style in his arms and headed upstairs to their bedroom. On the way they could hear their neighbor’s blasting Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’.
Part 3
“How are you doing?” Troy asked softly, he knew that she wasn’t doing too good under the circumstances. Alex Sullan was his wife’s favorite and best student… and his death wasn’t something she had taken lightly. She’s been upset ever since his death a week prior.
“Better… I guess.” Sharpay stated simply, trudging sadly down the staircase. She met him halfway and wrapped her arms around her husband. Troy embraced her tightly, hoping that his embrace could help her somehow. Sharpay let out a sigh and shut her eyes as she dropped her head against his chest; melting against him.
