“You’re drunk.” He stated simply, causing her to laugh at him.

“And you’re hot!”

His eyebrows rose at her blunt reply. He hadn’t realized that Beth thought he was cute, handsome, or hot. Then again, that could be why her heartbeat always drew a little bit faster whenever he was near her. Josef thought it had been because of what he was… he didn’t drink fake blood like Mick.

Beth stood there firmly (with just the barest hint of a sway) and stared at him. She knew now that she was definitely drunk because of her statement – no way would she had ever admitted that had she been sober. Beth waited for him to react, rather that be to laugh at her or kiss her, she didn’t care.

“Well?” Beth prompted after a few minutes of silence. Josef grinned before pulling her to him.

“I think you’re hot too, Beth,” He whispered against her lips causing her to be slightly lightheaded before he brushed his lips against hers.

A well written short story. And when she is sober, Beth wull be so embarrased. Well, at least she said it straight out and it will clear the air between them.
