With him, she didn’t have to hide her hate or love, he knew everything… he knew her thoughts… and what she felt. He probably knew more about her then she did about him, but when she was with him – it didn’t matter.
All that mattered was the fact she could feel loved and cared about. Something she hadn’t felt like since Sam left her. Pain from Sam didn’t hurt as bad as it usually did when she was with him.
She didn’t have to hide behind a mask with Edward, and he didn’t have to hide behind one with her.
