In the early mornings, while she was half-awake and half-asleep, she could feel herself jumping from rooftop to rooftop. Wind blowing through her hair, her costume clinging to her, and the thrill of kicking some villain scum’s asses assaulted her. Where Barbara Gordon was never Oracle, or daughter of Commissioner James Gordon, or in a wheelchair… but Batgirl, sidekick of the legendary Batman, a crime-fighter.
Then Barbara wakes up, and reality sets in… she wasn’t Batgirl anymore.
The loss of her feeling in her legs hits her and she rolls out of bed carefully as she moves into her chair.
